Not sure, but are the tickets transferable this late in the game? Might be an option?
Either way my vote is a no until the dust settles. From the reports it just seems like it's getting worse. When you hear curfew, and reports of tourists having their cameras confiscated, it's just got bad written all over it if you're just going on a vacation.
Vacations are for relaxing, at least somewhat, letting your mind breath a little, and even if you're not in Cairo, Suez or Alexandria, it's going to be in your head the whole time you're there most likely. Plenty of other interesting places to go.

The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood is one of the less fundamentalist and more civilized Islamic political organizations in the Middle East. I know they have "Muslim" in their name and everything like that that screams "evil" to the untrained Western eye, but the Muslim Brothers have about as much to do with al-Qaida and the like as the Republican Party does with the Ku Klux Klan. They have been around for over 80 years and are more like a conservative political party, except that nowadays they are outlawed.

Egypt has a lot of people much more radical than the Muslim Brothers (Salafis, what used to be the Gamaa, domestic Islamic radicals etc.) that are much more to be worried about.

Well, after much deliberation, and after seeing the latest developments (including the extension of the curfew to all of Egypt), we've decided to call and cancel.

I just hope it gets resolved as peacefully (all things considered) as it did in Tunisia.

Interesting, my comments were in reference to a radio program that I was listening to on my way home from work and they were expressing this viewpoint. It is good to know that these folks are of more centrist bent. I do know that the people have not had much say in their affairs for many years... maybe 4000.. don't really know the history.
 
I would have decided that Gabriel, good call.

Apparently internet and cell phone connections in Egypt have been cut. Now is the time to hope for lots of photographers and journalists to report to the world what is going on there. Lets hope everyone is safe and the fuse gets pulled asap.
 
Just finished watching live feed on CNN. The army is on the move and apparently sympathetic to the crowds. Crowds chanting " The people and army are one." Looks like things are coming to a head.
 
Gabriel, don't feel too bad- Egypt has been around for several millenia, and you will be able to visit once things calm down. I wanna go back to Egypt, and see many things that I did not have time to see last year. OK, someone posted this idea before I did. Still mean it.
 
I was told similarly last May when I told someone that I could not find the time to visit the pyarmids again.
 
Glad you decided to shelve that trip! Looks worse now then when you first posted, things are moving pretty quickly there it seems.
Like other's have said, broadband internet and mobile com has been cut, BUT....Dial Up still works 🙂, yeah it's slow, but if you have ability to call long distance from a landline, it's working, (ahhh, remember that lovely sound! haha) and there are ISP's offering numbers to use. Not the best, but, info can still get out which is nice. Unless the govt cuts all landline service, which would be an insanely bold step in censorship.
