I have seen countless threads on this forum as well as other about the M9 Titanium, and i admit the camera is amazing, but to tell you the truth i am more interested in the 2 accessories that come with it ( The holster and the finger loop).
It would be cool to have the holster under your jacket for fast street shooting and the finger loop is an amazing idea as well (i made one for my m2, though not as refined
)!
So i just want to post this out to see who else is interested in the innovations that leica has done that actually help with shooting in the M9 Ti.
So anyone?

The best camera is one that still works!
I struggle to see why a camera in a holster is any more effective for street shooting than the same camera hanging from a strap around your neck. I'm not knocking Leica's effort here, I just don't get it.
I'm curious to hear how others feel about it?

Whatever
Mmm...kinda weird.
Looks like that finger loop would only work with the titanium version, right? Think I'll just stick to a neck strap wrapped around my wrist a few times.

The holster is a great way to have your camera personalized.
After a few hot days of use, you can identify your camera by your armpit BO.
Yummy.
Seriously, the M9 Ti might be a great camera, but the holster thing+ 2 fingers loop is ridiculous IMHO.Hard to see how this design was made for human photographers.

Having actually handled the camera, I have to count myself among those where are underwhelmed. The finger-loop and the holster are bad enough. The LED illumination for framelines, which has to be switched on, is pure disaster.

Hmmm...never took time to check it out. That finger loop and holster set up is absolutely what I need. I now carry my M3 across the chest with my leather camera strap and is not nearly as easy as the holster appears to be. Although the strap itself appears a bit wide. And I could still use my Gordy strap instead of the finger loop.

That is, if it works for an M3 or other M.... can't afford the Titanium model.

I nearly choked on my coffee laughing at that ... I had no idea that it even existed, or that people were silly enough to pay the entry price if it did; whatever next?

The "finger loop" is pretty similar to the Leicagoodies "Sling"
I have one on my M8 and it's great since I can't stand neck straps.

camera in hand. shooting from a bridge. honk behind me. greatest pain I ever felt...
wrist straps are not so uncool as I have ever thought...

I made this finger loop for a few years ago, and it works pretty good so far with a thumbsup. I used to think I had to have a M grip, but don't feel the need for the grip anymore.

Wrist Straps and Hand Grips are the norm for Video and Movie cameras. Remember the grip on the Canon Scoopic 16?

The holster made me think of John Wayne.

Those accessories are proprietary to the Leica M9T. The finger loop bayonets onto the side of the body as it has no strap lugs, hence the use of the shoulder holster. That holster is quite silly.
Leica has got to give the buyer something special for $25K+! For that much, at least they could give you the option of strap lugs. That one lug better be pretty secure!

I don't think anything is really more effective...the point being is it something you can wear to an event under a jacket, sport coat, etc. and still be able to use it when you want it without looking like a pap.
I carry my M3 everywhere I go. When I don't want to be identified as a camera-toter, and believe me, there are good reasons for that, then, I slip the camera strap across my chest and slip my jacket on over it. If I want to use the camera, just a quick pull of the camera up to eyelevel and I am good to go. Is it more effective than around the neck? No. Is it more comfortable for me? Yes. Is it more discrete? Absolutely.
Would a simple holster work as well? I can see how it would. But nothing beats effectiveness better than "camera in hand", it just isn't practical sometimes, though.

I agree with what Simon said (I love you pictures BTW), and after i made my own finger loop i find it a lot easier to use than a wrist/neck strap! The holster is a good idea if i was going to be out with the camera all day but when i go out to specifically take some pictures i would just bring the camera, a light meter and a few rolls of tri-x!
Too bad the holster is not available or as easy to make as the finger loop..
