cold feet...

pull yourself together man! this is no time to get squirrelly on us.
we've all been in a very highly stressful situation; because of the x100.
stick to the plan! remember your training, do not waiver, complete the mission.

wow!
i felt like a marine for a tiny second there...

I handled an X100 at the Focus On Imaging in the NEC yesterday for bout 10 minutes. I must say I felt disappointed in its build. Yes it was nice to handle, but I must remember that its not a Leica. It just felt flimsy. In that respect it was disappointing. It handled nicely though.

Steve.

yes, i know...you started all this for me over at that other forum this morning!

Just get some sheepskin boots and soldier on ... we have expectations!

Hold a M8 in one hand and a X100 in the other hand and ask yourself which one you would can first!

My Dad would never buy a car just into production. Experience told him that inevitably there would be faults that needed fixing once the car was in 'mass' circulation. Get that feeling about new cameras? And if production is to be pushed up, at what cost? Best to keep your money and wait until all the known and unknown bugs are fixed. By that time the early buyers will be expounding their feelings about the camera.

My thoughts exactly...(not sour grapes either) I would wait and see how the Reviews come in...;)
Cold Feet...I understand cold feet...I even get that way when buying large amounts of film...

I even bid on a sexy M6 this week. First time I have bid on a camera at Ebay for a long time. Easier to say wait than to do it. I would take time though and decide now M8 or X100 so you can save the need to get the other after mistakenly getting the first.

i doubt that in the long run i would go for an m8...i like and am most satisfied with the rd1s.
the x100 would bring another dimension to street shooting to me, providing the af is quick and accurate.
i know that really, the rd1 with my 40 sonnar is a great small kit and that the x100 only offers automation and af over it...along with a few more pixels and maybe better high iso shooting.
it's a crap shoot...

If you are an early adopter or just a bit later I doubt you will lose a lot for the rental of the current P&S Digital grail. I think you are going to love the X100 for a long time. But that’s just me and my impression.

YMMV BIDTS (Your Mileage May Vary, But I Don't Think So!)
