The RE-35 cartridge replaces the film in your classic analog 35-mm camera. Set the ISO to 400 and your done - your camera will now take high quality digital pictures. RE-35 works with every analog camera. The cartridge easily fits into a standard 35-mm film compartment. The RE-35 cartrige connects to your Mac or PC via USB for recharging and file-transfer. Our built-in transfer-software runs directly from the cartridge (Abobe Air runtime required).

  • Fits into every
    35-mm analog camera.
  • Saves digital images to
    built-in flash memory.
  • Exports high resolution
    jpegs and raws.
  • Connects to
    your PC/Mac via USB.
  • Graphics editing program
    runs from cartridge.
  • Available in
    4, 8 and 12 MP.

Belated April Fool, I'd say.

some time ago (read years) someone tried to launch a similar concept (what was that called, cannot recall) but shortly after kick-off that got extremely silent.

Either technologically unfeasable or bought off by camera manufacturers?

I'll believe it when it's sitting on the desk in front of me.

For the moment it is vapor-ware. There has been talk of this for years, Mind you, I hope they succeed. If not too expensive I might spring for one in the 8 to 12 MP range. It would be a hoot.

There is full contact info on the web site. If this is a hoax, someone put a lot of time and effort into it. I'm thinking for real but then again I believe in zombies and talking snakes.

Both of which you are likely to encounter before running into this 'flexi-sensor technology' cartridge.

Google does not show a single result when searching for the above term.

'Sucked From A Big Thumb Productions' did it again. :p

I've heard talk of these type of things for years now.. I just don't see how making one of any quality would be feasible at a reasonable price. You would either be severely "hobbling" your camera's abilities or making something so tiny, so complex, at great cost.

Although I'm pretty sure this is posted as a joke, the original idea has been presented many times seriously.

Why would you want it? It completely eliminates all (read most) of the advantages of a digital camera. No preview screen/histograms, none of the in camera control. Also is without most of the benefits of shooting film.

A very well made... production launch for a product that does not exist... done with tongue-in-cheek... certainly also a clever way to highlight the PR-firms capabilities. Well done!

I think the best giveaway was the: "comes in 4, 8, and 12 Megapixels" :)

Greetings, Ljós

That's all in some sort of gibberish moon-man alien language. I'm very proud of the fact that I only talk and read American.

I think you nailed the critical point here.

OK, so I put one of these cartridges in my M3. Voila I have the worlds first meterless digital camera.
