Right - Canon. It has an octagonal shape. Plus, the sides are too sharp for it to be a Leica.

My wife's stepfather says in 1950 he and James Dean were a tandem as parking valets at an LA eatery. He has a photo of the 2 of them in their parking outfits to prove it. Just saying.
