Why is it that the release dates given by Kodak are always off by a few months? The new Portra 160 was supposed to be released in March yet it's April and still none of the online shops have it in stock. It was the same with Portra 400.
Are the online sellers just holding back the new emulsion in order to get rid of their old stock first or is Kodak slow in filling orders?

I'm guessing, but I'd expect it's a combination of clearing old stock and also waiting until that stock is gone so they can place a big enough order. Or maybe the dealers historically order every quarter or something, and they're just waiting until the usual time. It's annoying though, particularly here in the UK, where dealers are slow to get just about everything.

Portra 160 is now available at Glazer's in 120, but I haven't seen it in 35mm yet. They're selling it alongside their existing stock of VC/NC, as they are doing with the new Portra 400 (which keeps selling out in 35 mm).

Macodirect.de has the new portra 160 in 120 and 4x5. the 35mm is expected early may.
