How do you sex a camera?

So is your camera a he or a she and what determines what makes them one or the other?

This is so easy. All cameras with a fixed lens are male.
A removable lens camera goes through a sex change every time you take off (or put on) a lens.
Furthermore, film cameras are bisexual. Digitals are mostly straight.

When focusing (with left hand) : male
When the shutter is open : female (very short time generally)

Each "clic" is orgasmic.

"La camera" is literaly the bedroom - picture is the result of the exposure.

To be honest I never really attach a gender to my cameras ... and when I hear someone refering to their Leica as 'she' in a thread I cringe a little!

That's what I read too, or maybe the non-literal way of it.

I don't attach gender categories to my things, no matter how much I love them. I once called my Macbook Supernova and my viola instrument "Svetlana" because all my friends had names for theirs but I just felt so stupid 😛
