Recently attended a workshop led by Stuart Franklin. Subject was industrial photography on the gas plant Ormen Lange on the norwegean west coast plus the oil platform Draugen som 140 km out. Used the X100 exclusivly to get some mileage on the camera, and overall it behaved nicely in company with Canons, Nikons, 2 Hasselblads and a Mamiya (if memory serves me). 5 degrees celsius, windy and chimpin' made the X100 eat batteries, max 200 shots (raw + jpeg, no battey saving) each. Last day with partly heavy fog made a couple of the Canons go down with moisture hehe.
Used manual aperture mode, auto WB, Astia film simulation (= Provia AFAIK), Color: MID, NR: Medium/Low, everything else: Standart. AF set on the AFL/AEL button, worked like a charm, cept one night shooting with sparse lights.
I have no doubts in this camera on the streets, no matter what "professional street photographs" may deem. (yes, I think we all know the bumps by now)
Following are a few shots (allmost :=) randomly picked, jpeg's straight from camera, downsized to fit the Forum, no pp.
Considering buying a second X100 for back up >G<
ps: hoping to get the uploading working, otherwise forgive me >S<
Kind Regards
