A rather disappointing firmware upgrade on the whole.
I've updated mine, and whilst what they say they've fixed seems rather esoteric, one thing they appeared to have fixed is some of the focusing unreliabilities. The camera seems to be much more consistent in focusing, and no longer appears be showing inconsistent distances on the scale, focusing on distant subjects appears more reliable and they seem to have implemented MF on the ring properly whereby the focus distance changes up and down the scale quickly as you rotate the ring.
The biggie, (hopefully), is the startup/wake from sleep issue. The startup does seem more responsive, althought his might just be wishful thinking. So hopefully, they've addressed the startup/wake issues. A bit of use over the next few days should tell.
There may be other issues fixed too that I've not noticed.
I suspect that these fixes are undocumented as Fuji, (like most manufacturers), will often only acknowledge problems privately.
No fix for holding AF on the shutter button after exposure or the weird ASA implementation across exposure modes though.
Actually, the update is not so disappointing if they have fixed these issues.

So the camera when contantly refocussed on a static object no longer jumps from say 7ft to 10ft to 7ft and a bit etc? (even though its quite likely its in focus ok no matter what it says).
How quick have they sped up the MF compared to how it was? One rotation from one end of the scale to the other?
Also do you know if they modified the depth of field scale to show an estimate for a 23mm lens and not a 35 like it appears they have put in from factory?

Just update. Need to re setup the camera date.
Focus is more accurate no more back focus. A bit faster in my feeling.
Exposure seems more accurate. Not much underexpose like before.
So far. I am very happy with the new firmware eg. accurate focus.
Just hope they will fix the iso lock in each mode.
It is not logical to me. Hope they fix it soon.

Fantastic it has solved the focussing issues that I bought up with fuji, namely it jumping all over the place. Now I can understand what its doing

The next update should also include retaining existing settings after an upgrade! All of the settings in the camera had to be re setup.

I don't notice any change to the behaviour of the MF ring.

What lighting were you trying it under?
A rather odd quirk now. The focus ring works fast in bright lighting, but becomes sluggish and unresponsive in low light.......it's an electro-mechanical linkage, what's light level got to do with it?

I had this same behaviour before the firmware upgrade, and it's been noted in a few other places as well.
I don't think there were any "undocumented" changes to focus behaviour in this firmware. If there were, they're of a magnitude that most people could easily miss, and what would be the point of that?

Wake from sleep still unreliable
Wake from sleep still unreliable
After a week with the new firmware, the unreliable wake from sleep issue is still there.
The AF really does seem a lot better now though, that wasn't my imagination. It now feels comparable to my Panny GF1/20mm.
