Just got this set in excellent condition:

Contax G1 35 mm
Carl Zeiss Sonnar 2.8/90 with both caps and leather pouch
Carl Zeiss Planar 2/45 with both caps and leather pouch
TLA140 flash with leather pouch
A leather Contax camera bag to fit all above

The guy went digital 5 years ago (a nikon D2X) and this set was just collecting dust in his closet.

Everything for $100 :D

Wow! That's incredible! I once got a Nikon F3 for free from a friend of a friend who owns a camera store. He just had it lying around on a top shelf somewhere..

I can't see the 35mm on the photo. Now you need to source a Biogon. Will easily cost you more than the US$ 100. ;)

I hope you enjoy it.

I think the time of deals on film kit is over and desirable kit (Contax, Leica, Hasselblad, Rollei, ...) is on the way up again. Not so much gets thrown on the market these days.

Particularly correctly functioning film kit. There's plenty of trash out there that people are just trying to unload (to paraphrase most ebay sellers: "I know that this camera doesn't work, but I'm going to tell everyone that I'm too stupid to test a camera so that they aren't surprised when it doesn't work").

I've actually seen massive cost declines in digital (particularly the m4/3rds systems) and it's making me want to move that way. If I get one more film camera that needs a repair or CLA, I'll stay out of the film camera-buying business permanently. (I say that now...)

Anyhow, got side-tracked. Beautiful kit you got there.

I can't believe anyone would sell a kit like this for $100.00 ... digital or no digital!

He was either very un-informed, filthy rich to the point where he lights his cuban cigars with hundred dollar bills, off his medication, or you had some compromising photos of him that were part of the deal!

I remember a while ago someone here bought a one owner black paint M3 with it's original 50mm Summicron for eight hundred dollars or something similarly ridiculous, I can't remember the exact price ... but it wasn't a lot and was more representative of what the kit should have been worth in chrome! The seller obviously had no idea that his black camera (bought new) was worth any more than any other M3.

And that's why I stop at Garage Sales...there is someone out there who thinks they no longer make film for the camera he got from a long lost uncle...and now it's just taking up space in his attic...That's what motivates me to stop at all those yard sales...someday...

Congrats on the lovely kit.....where do you get those deals guys!!!!
Now if you want to sell it ($150) and you gain %50 profit :) :)

Really enjoy it. Looks lovely.

Interesting that you mentioned this.

The guy said to me that he brought the set to several local consignment shops and they all refused to accept them. Hence he put an ad in kijiji and sure enough I was the lucky guy.

While I almost exclusively shoot digital, I still love good cameras and would certainly have bought this for that price - or double, or treble. For a deal like that I would happily spend some dosh on 35mm films to shoot with it.
