The title says it all. I found an earlier thread but none of the
methods seem to work for me. I'm still getting posts with the
small thumbnail. Do not see an icon as Brian suggested. I'm on a MAC (OS 10.4) if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance for any help.

You have to upload them to some type of web server first, be it a personal site, or some photo sharing site like flickr or photobucket.

Thanks Bhop, guess it's finally time to open a flickr account!

The best camera is one that still works!

Or 'photobucket' ... I find it preferable to flickr. It has a very easy system to use for basic hosting purposes IMO.

Thanks Keith, will consider that option as well.

Keith, does that mean that you don't use Zenfolio out of preference or because Zenfolio is not suitable?

Improving daily--I think.
This "Keith" uses Zenfolio and loves it!

I tend to separate my images into two groups Tim ... the stuff that really matters to me goes on my paid for zenfolio account where I don't have to suffer popups and banners etc.
The rest, for posting here etc, I find photobucket to be excellent and because it's free the banners etc are justified IMO. I like the way photobucket works but mind you they do have some strange rules. They keep deleting a photo of mine that they don't like ... it's a nude with a chicken walking through the frame and for some strange reason it bothers them. As often as I re-upload it, they delete it! LOL

Thanks Keith. I will stay with Zenfolio. As for the deleted photo, perhaps photobucket thinks the chicken is not free range?

Photobucket... easier linking
Photobucket... easier linking
I, too, use Photobucket. When you hover over your pic in the album, it presents you with a choice of 4 prepared links to left click on, which puts them into "clipboard" on a PC so you can easily paste into the body text of this sites message block.
Not sure how "clipboard" functions happen on a MAC, but presume it's similar.
The link I click on for pasting into the message box is the IMG link:
Which I just left clicked in Photobucket to create the transfer of the link to "clipboard" and then right clicked and pasted into this block.
NOTE: Keith. The reason they don't like your nude with the chicken is because it's run by an Amish Webmaster who has an aversion to Nudes and/or any hint of beastiality regarding chickens.
Bottom line... Photobucket is my choice because it's the first relatively simple image hosting site I have found with an emphasis on hot linking.

And that's the function I really like about it too ... one left click and done!
