I'm intrigued that this particular image of mine (touch) has been selected several times because there was discussion when I posted it in the gallery that it may be better with the back subjects cropped out of the scene which I was never keen to do.

The feedback here and in the gallery is invaluable to me ... this is such a good thread week after week. 🙂

Keith, I'd overlooked the touch photo but the more I see it the more I like it. This weekly thread is so useful and inspirational.

Thanks to Harry, Porktaco, Jim, Marc, Luigi, Phil and Paul for mentioning my photos - I am honoured.

Here's some that I liked most during the week:
paulfish4570 - Two Friends. I like this for its candid honesty and beautiful light. Unobtrusive 35mm cameras were made for this.

Zockson - From Berlin With Love. The lighting and tones almost bring the sculpture to life.

Tony Pio - Moni. Her eyes and expression. The grain and tones make me want to shoot more film - particularly for portraits.

Cagliostro73 - Me! Graphic, intriguing, surreal, good use of colour. I also liked Liquid Dream from the same series.

Paolo Bonello - Distracted. Good street catch at Sydney's Opera Bar. I like the carnival ones already mentioned, too.

direwolf101 - Frosty. I'm sure this pussycat would be very pleased with this portrait. The dark background, lighting, tones and vignetting.

Papa Djoe - ***. For its mood and the eerie light.

luiman - Misty (again). Beautiful, moody, misty landscape.

enlo - sunset. Thoughtful composition, beautiful light and balance between all the elements in this photo.

raytoei@gmail.com - Emily, Restaurant. Someone else commented raw and edgy, and I agree.

Thankyou to Paul, Keith, porktaco and jcrutcher. I have already said this in a reply to one of my gallery comments but I'll say it again: Receiving recognition of my images is such a positively rewarding thing on so many levels and mixing it amongst the collective brilliance on this forum is the single best thing I have done to improve my own photography.

Here's just a few but there's so many more.

Paulfitz76 - Great use of colour and a beautiful mood.

Keith, I'm gonna go outside the trend here and say that of this set I like this colour one #6 the best for the infusion of colour through the stark contrast.

Tony Pio, a brilliant child portrait. One of the best I've seen here and my fav' this week.

Filmfan - This is just a wonderful shot. A joy to look at.

First before getting to my picks this week, my thanks and appreciation goes out to barnwulf, luiman, and SciAggie for including my photos in their picks to this week.

And here are my picks:

Ezzie, Because the photo has such pastoral lusciousness, technical qualities of composition, detail, and tones it is my top pick of the week. Additionally because the photo reflects the end result of the commitment to the experimentation of building the camera first and the choice of development.

BlackCamera~S.Smyth, continuing with the experimentation this is another unique and well executed shot.

direwolf101, I like cats and see lots of photos of them, this one stands well above most of them, an excellent portrait that would make a fine print.

citroensg, I like the natural colors of this contented man with enough information included in the frame about his environment.

onur77, this is a familiar street for me and I like the costume and expression captured in this shot.

Bingley, I like the composition and colors in this, as well as the fact that that is a fine looking photographer and shooting pose so much so that I had to look twice to find the person being photographed who is almost out of the frame. To me, intentional of otherwise, its tension makes the shot.

A few more that I really liked:

Ezzie - Sande Bay. Ezzie continues to amaze me with the results of his experimentation, this time with a DIY 6x17 camera, and developed in Caffenol.
