Hi everyone,

I've been looking at getting a small and light P&S to carry around and am considering either a Leica Z2X, or something like that (an Olympus XA2?).

Is the Leica Z2X any good? Image quality?

Anyone on here use the Z2X regularly?

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks for the help!

Best,

Theresa

Haven't used it but I suspect it is as good as most any point and shoot film camera out there. I saw one in the RFF classifieds available for $45, so I would recommend it as it is not a lot of cash to risk. I would like to have one myself.

The XA2 I have is okay for what it does and I am still working around it to see what can result from different techniques but it ain't a Leica M or Nikon SLR. It is superb for carrying around in a pocket and in 90+ degree heat, and I find myself carrying it for snapshots, not the Leicas or Nikons.:D

Its lens outperformed my Canon EF 28-105/3.5-4.5 USM II and was the reason I bought into the R-System some 10 years ago.

Cheers,
Uwe

My Z2x is a wonderful little camera that I keep loaded in the car all the time. The lens is as good as any. Personally, I can't understand why this little camera has not received more attention. Of course, that means you can get one in good condition rather cheap these days.

I would very much recommend this camera.
