Ok, I shot AGFA APX 400 at ISO 100 (my bad). It's 120 format and expired in 2003. It's 24 degrees Celcius out here and I do have HC-110. Can make any dilution from syrup. I use standard Paterson tanks, plastic reels. Go!

Here you can find a solution for dilutions A and B at 24C, but maybe it is better to lower the temperature. Times below 4min are not recommended.

Also from Digitaltruth:
APX 400 120:
HC-110 Dil C, 100ASA, 7.5min, 20C

Right. Uhm... lets see.

Two stops underexposed would mean: dev.time x 1.33 x 1.33 to compensate for that. Just a starting point though...

Four degrees too warm would mean: dev.time : 1.10 : 1.10 to compensate for temperature. Again: starting point...

This temperature compensation I found mentioned here, but it is for Rodinal, not HC-110. Somebody else might chime in, maybe Robert Vonk, Fotohuis RoVo?

Maybe chuck the HC-110 and try Rodinal 1:100 stand dev? It has worked miracles with me before!?

Over exposed not under... Apx 400 @ 100.

Whoops.

Must be that whiskey again ;)

Strike previous post, all jitter, bug and static!

Was serious on the Rodinal stand dev though...!

Easy on the whisky guys ;)

I also posted this question on APUG and the funny thing about asking advice on internet is that you get many well intended answers, but all of them are different

Anyway, at the massive dev chart I found a time for APX400 @ ISO100 that almost certainly is wrong, but the figures for ISO400 looked believable.

I settled for 12min in HC-110 'H' (20 degrees Celsius), but of course had to compensate for temperature and overexposure. Because my experiences with similar film (actually APX100, also expired in 2003) gave somewhat underdeveloped negs, I decided to settle for only a one stop pull (25%). This of course gives 9min in HC-110 'H' at 24 degrees.

Result: Perfect negs. I'm so happy!

Well done!

My my personal experience with APX 400 I'd say that its not a true 400 ASA film anyway. I used to overexpose one stop just to be on the safe side... then again I used Rodinal and that may have been the culprit :)
