M5, 90mm Summicron V.1

Jeez, getting several packages at once today has turned from a happy occasion into a bit of a bummer! Anyway, any reason why a 90mm Summicron cannot mount on an M5?

Just got the Cron today and while it mount fine on the M4 it won't click into place onto my M5. Bummer because I envisioned the "Beast" being the better camera to mount the lens on!

Any insight is welcome!!
 
It is compatible with the M5: look for slight damage on any of the mounting flanges.

I use a 90/2 V1 on my M8 and M9, and of course the M3.
 
You're right, Brian, there is a small chip missing on one of the flanges. I guess there is no way to fix it? It still mounts on the M4 so I can still use it on there.
 
Guys: Great news! After some sustained yet not to forceful pressure, the lens mounted! Additionally, it goes on and off without issue now. On closer inspection, I think the flange may be a bit filed down but wouldn't this affect it being mounted on any camera? Anyway, I don't have to worry about it anymore as it works perfectly with all my M cams :)

Brian: I know! Ive been lusting after a V.1 to go along with my 35mm f2.8 Summaron and Rigid Cron for a while. I think the three lenses will all work together nicely :)
 
Nokton48: Yup, this is a silver one and it looks nice on my chrome M5. I definitely envisioned it getting more use on the M5 due to the size and you are 100% correct, it balances perfectly :)

Very excited to start using this lens! Anyone have any photos to share, Id love to see some examples!
