Alright so I just purchased a Mamiya m645 1000s and 20 rolls of film. I picked up some provia and some velvia in both 135 and 120 format. Also ordered a bit of Portra and Ektar. I really should be set for a while.

As I recall, Astia was also discontinued in 135 but was to remain available in 120, cannot recall sheet film availability. Seems Fuji alternatives to Sensia are Astia or Provia in 120, Provia 100 or 400 in 135.
Only finished one roll of Elite Chrome myself - I liked it. Have another nearly finished in a cameras at present. At USD$6 a roll from Dwaynes, it is excellent value IMHO even for Aussies who need to pay extra for postage.

Im just tried my first roll of Kodak E100VS
Amazing nice colors if u got it spot on..but sadly...slides are more sensitive to exposure and even if its one stop difference..the results would be drastic..

I only scan as well, and second the 400X recommendation. It's really expensive, but it's really good! There are also a number of great pics on Flickr, etc., of people pushing it to 1600 and coming up with outstanding results.

Hello Semilog, That is a very sharp landscape photo there. Looks like a larger format really. Nice work.

Ok yeah I've seen a lot of the Provia 400x pushed. I understand you just set the ISO to say 1600.
Do you have to tell the developer that you shot it at 2 stops under exposure?

Yes you have to tell the lab to push 2 stops.

Yes, if you underexpose two stops, tell your developer to push 2 stops. They don't have any other way to know that you need the film pushed.
Fuji are generally pretty hopeless at effectively communicating the status of their products to their customers, and it would appear that nothing much has changed!

Was pretty sure you had to tell them, although I saw someone that Shot portra 400 at 1600 and he didn't need to request any different exposure at his lab.
How is the grain with provia pushed to 1600? shot on Medium format of course.

5 rolls of Portra 400 - I haven't shot with this yet, but I hear that it is the perfect every day film.
2 rolls of Ektar 100 (I've got a few left from last time) - My favorite 100 speed negative film. Great colors
2 rolls of Provia 100F - The replacement I picked for Sensia. Very good reviews. We shall see.
1 roll of Velvia 50 - Supposedly the absolute best film for landscape photography.
120 Format
3 rolls of Portra 400
3 rolls of Provia 100F
1 roll of Velvia 50
