software question

Those cheap copies on eBay will be illegal copies. No matter how legitimate they make the ads it is 99.999% certain that you might as well have saved your money and illegally downloaded them yourself.

Try Lightroom Joe, I came from using PSE as well. It was not what I was used to, but after a period of learning I would not use anything else. Put in the effort and you'll like it too.

RPP is great, I use it sometimes as it does a better job than Lightroom. I use Lightroom for a quick peak then RPP to do the real conversions. :)

Lightroom is wonderful, you'll get the hang of it in no time.

i just loaded the trial version of pse9...does not work on x100 raw files or at least i couldn't get it to work.

while i am lazy and prefer not to have to learn a new software package like lightroom...right now the biggest drawback is that it cost about 300 bucks locally.
our postal system is only just getting back to work after a slowdown and they predict a large backlog, so i would prefer not to buy online at the moment.

You need that special pse9 acr update from following link:

it wouldn't load...tried it.

adobe just refuses to let us upgrade...they want new $$ for new products.

maybe because you have another version of 6.4.1 loaded it won't let you install this one.

Seems its a real pain to do something that is should happen straight out of the box.
I think the adobe idea of the common raw format using DNG is a very good one as it would stop all this nonsense but I doubt that nikon and canon will follow it. But if everyone else does then all well and good.

try the RPP converter (link below). It may be quicker than the Adobe DNG Converter(depending on the settings you use). And its FREE.
