Cooke Kinic - antique store find

I have had a G1 for a few months, using it with a LTM adapter. After looking in many thrift stores and antique shops I finally found a decent C-mount lens, so got that adapter too. I like the cheap price you can get if you do the hunting, I paid $10 for this 2 inch Cooke Kinic Anastigmat F3.5. And after lugging the camera around with a couple of fast 50s, this smaller lens is fine.

Results. It focuses at less than 2 feet, so of course the macros are taken first.

I want a G1 really bad just so I can put different lenses on it other than the Panasonic ones. Granted I would need to find lenses like you did in order to afford to equip it considering I have no cash for a G1. Those Cooke Kinic's were used on video cameras I think, and still go for some cash.

Your shots are awesome. The bokeh and fall off of it wide open are very impressive for such a slow lens. You are making me feel shy about my III and Elmar...

'twernt nothin' Thanks! This is the first digital I've had, I've been shooting Large Format and wetplate for 5 years. It's too much fun! Do what I did; just buy a body without the native lens. Then they're cheap. Good luck.

I'm not a digital shooter, but thanks for posting this, as I can start looking for some of those neat C mount lenses. Sure wish we had some of those thrift stores here, but where I live in Las Cruces, NM, just 50 miles from a veeery bad border town in Mexico, all the thrift stores seem to have mostly strollers and seriously dead bikes.

Actually, I found it back East this summer. The antique shops here in Tucson suck too. People are looking for these cameras now for the lenses, so they don't just sit on shelves in shops for years like they used to. Try El Paso too, and sleuth around asking older folks.
