I'd get two M6 non-TTL 0.85 bodies 😎
The classic-direction rotating shutter dial is no biggie imo, TTL is only useful when using flash (which I almost never do) and the 0.85 viewfinder, well you got to have seen one to know what a difference it makes.

Nah. In the short run, you will end up spending about the same amount. In the end, when you've more experience, you'll end up buying what you really want (if you can afford it).

If I couldn't have two MPs then it would have to be the two M6ttl working with two bodies that are different is really annoying to me anyway.

I don't think two identical bodies makes sense. Providing you've got a meter in at least one body, I'd vote that different viewfinders is the biggest reason for a two-body setup. Maybe a 0.58x M6/ZI/Hexar RF for 28/35mm and a 0.85x M6/M3/R3M for 50mm? Ultimately, I think the answer to this particular poll depends on your lens arsenal and shooting style (e.g. If you only own a single 35mm lens, I'd vote for the MP option 🙂 ).

ZI & M6 (or any earlier M's) without a doubt for mwah.
I've owned both and I'm currently using a M6. The ZI that I sold a while ago was the better camera and I certainly miss AE on the rangefinder these days. On the other hand, the M6 is the only camera I use in the rain. It is the fail safe camera.

I wouldn't buy two of the same camera if I had the choice and ideally I wouldn't buy two electronic cameras... and I wouldn't buy a MP if I could get a M6 for half the price.

It would be great to have Zeiss Ikons with different VFmagnifications, but alas, it is not the case, therefore in my opinion you will be best off getting two M6's: 0.58 and 0.85.

I am with Roger here...what is it you REALLY want? Scrimping on the cost at my age is foolish, I can't afford to buy a succession of cameras/lenses. Life is too short these days.😛 I either buy what I want (used/from revenue generated by selling something or a part-time job), or I wait. So, I voted for a used MP.
Today, there are only two cameras that I really want:
1. Leica MP
2. Leica M9
Everything else is a compromise.

I voted MP, but in reality I'd probably chicken out of spending that sort of money and get an M3 instead.

I think a combination of one M2 and one M3 with the experienced mind of light and shadows is optimal. Maybe just one M2 will do...

Then you are asking about which two *things* to buy.
Not cameras.
In which case I'd say buy the coolest-black and the shiniest-chrome *thing* you can find 🙂

M6 TTL for flash and Ikon has some of the same features
as the M7.

Interesting, because yours is a viewpoint that would literally never occur to me. The ergonomics of having two identical or substantially identical bodies is far more important to me than different finder magnifications.
This doesn't mean that either of us is right or wrong, just that sometimes, one person's viewpoint never even occurs to another person.

I'd go for two Zeiss Ikons if you want to actually use them thoroughly to shoot, or an MP if you're buying it as a toy/object of pleasure.
Buying something for physical enjoyment as an object is no better or worse than buying something solely for the purpose as a tool, but for the latter I really don't think you can go wrong with 2 ZI's. You've got the best viewfinder, service from Zeiss, easy film loading and they'll do you no wrong.
Two m6's would be similar, albeit without AE and with slower loading, but arguably more stout build quality. Just personal preference from there.
