Was given a roll of this awhile back and decided to shoot it today , expired in 08 . I only got 4 shots where the exposure was correct, the rest was underexposed by a few stops . I did manage to save two of them.
Shot it at 25 ISO dev in Microdol-x for 12 min. 3 inv. every minute.
1st shot looked like a normal exposure .
2nd and 3rd shot's are the one's I was able to save .
Test roll .

They look nice to me. The problem with using old film is whether what you have done is applicable to fresh film - so you may have to start from square 1 with the new stuff.

Can one still get Microdol-X? I've always had good luck with Rodinal with that film...like, really good luck.
With that film, grain just isn't an issue and the extra sharpness is readily apparent. I watch my agitation so highlights blowing out isn't an issue (slightly pulling, as you do, would do more for that, anyway)...always was a fan of higher contrast so for my tastes, this film wins.

Freestyle offers a clone of it in their Legacy Pro chemical line.

Be careful, Pan F is like crack.
Pan F is a stuff from top shelf, even from 2008, there should be no deterioration in performance. Tom, if You are up to it, mix Your own Beutler developer (very simple) for this film. You might get very positively surprised.

Note that PanF has less latent image keeping capacity that other films and should be developed promptly. This is why the frame numbers are often very hard to read on proofsheets.
Crack indeed. I now buy it by the 50 roll pack.

Yep, been using this stuff in the past few weeks with my medium format gear and I love it! Here's a couple proof sheets I scanned from car shows in the last couple weeks.
