Anyone know if this is an easy fix to do on the camera (Leica M8)?
My rangefinder is out with close to mid-range objects.
thanks for any help.

So the distant focus, infinity, is sharp?

Distance is slightly out, ever so slightly. Unsure if i have the balls to tinker with the camera myself...

If your infinity is off, it's an easy fix. I've done it with my M8, and recently with my M9 too. Check out this thread. Good pics and instructions there.

Forgot to add, if you fix your infinity, I think there's a good chance that your other focus issues might disappear too.

That's certainly what I'd try first. If that doesn't work -- well, that's what repairers are for.

I adjust mine all the time. Very easy with an allen wrench. Just a tiny tweak but if too far no big deal just go back the other way. One quick way is to make sure the infinity falls into place through the view finder, everything lines up. Otherwise I do a close and infinity check with the focus with image taken but infinity images don't tell you much. For close focus, with the camera facing you is is right to left and if back focussing, left to right on the adjustment with the allen wrench. Just a tiny tweak though but again, if you go too far, no big deal just bring it back in.
