I saw this in your "final images…" thread! You really should reconsider your decision - it is such a wonderful lens. Those images are addictive!

Love the background in your shot here ;-)

Here is one of the first shots with the Canon 85/1.8 LTM (a more technical shot, especially for this very thread ;)):

And more nice shots i'd like to share but I think i'm already way overboard with my enthusiasm so i'll stop myself now :D

Use of the clarity slider is a little too obvious here. i know the lens isn't that soft and the bokeh on the Lux ain't that smooth....haha, Nokton forever! ;)

- Haha, you're mistaken

I did not use clarity slider ... actually i don't even know what that is!

The only pp I did on this image was to use the Color EFEX pro plug preset "Low key" in LR

Here's a full sized original. Simply converted from DNG to JPG and uploaded ->

Here's another image from the 35 lux ASPH 1st version -> [again, used only a preset as I'm intimidated by and too handicapped to deal with Photoshop or similar tools]:

I like Leica lenses and Voigtländer lenses alike :)

All of them have their own charm - just depends on what you like

Last weekend was the first time, I could take out the black Canon 85/1.8 LTM out for a spin after adjusting it, to perfect focus on the M9.

The bokeh looks quite modern for a lens of this vintage (making this Canon lens even more impressive) I am in love with this lens ;-)

I forgot - if anybody knows anything about the Canon 85/1.8 LTM (history, design, which optical design is it - Sonnar?, etc… ) - come to Shanghai and one beer is on me!

I am extremely curious about this lens!

Mamiya 55mm 2.8 645 old MF version all wide open, first shot is a little cropped other than that straight out of the scanner.

Hello menos,
See:-
http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Canon_RF_2e.html#CANON_RF_1.8-85mm

This is Frank's website RFF member (Sonnar 2 ).

Also full information will be in Peter Kitchingman's superb Canon Lensbook
See:-
http://www.canonrangefinder.servehttp.com//?page=book

Thanks a lot for the links! I have spent many hours on Frank's site - a true goldmine for vintage RF lens users! …but as always, one demands more - you know, the odd story about a lens or somebody else using one (one doesn't see many info, less so photographs, made with this lens on the net).

Awesome shots menos!

Thanks ;-) This lens really get's close to me … really, really like it!
