Is anyone using this lens on the M8 and / or M9? Anybody have an examples of images from this combo? Anyone have images of the M8 or M9 with this lens mounted (besides what is on google images)?

I've only used it on the GF1 with an adapter. Apart from the fact it looses its WA character, it works great as far as sharpness and colors are concerned.

John, I use a 35/3.5 Summaron ltm on my M8. Quite happy with it. Nice and sharp and awfully compact. A little more ergonomically friendly than the Elmar so far as setting aperture. Better glass, too. But just about the same price.
Thanks Rob. Honestly, I'm looking for the Elmar because it is so (extremely) tiny and I like the way it looks on the camera. I have other 35mm lenses, so this is just a lens to mess around with since I never owned one.

sorry i missed your first post. i bought a 35 elmar 3.5 to use pretty much full time on an m2, but did take a few first photos with an m9 (faster than waiting for film 😀) to see what's up.
the two photos below are uncropped with only minor sharpening. the file ending 125 is probably wide open at 3.5; the second ending "45" is stopped down 1-2 (old) stops. manual coding could be the tri-elmar 35/4. haven't experimented much, but i'll be using a coded milich adapter to make it easy if i move the elmar to an m9.
i think, so far, that it will be a good combination with the m2, with good color, slightly lower contrast, acceptably sharp, and its very small size.

I tried yes... it was nice for B&W, but I'm mostly color... and for that, I have many other nicer lenses. It was only ok... but super tiny.

I really like this lens. I bought it for my IIIa but have used it on my M8 though now mostly on my Nex-3 where it looks great. Can't upload photos at the moment but I've been surprised how good this little old lens still is and the size is unbeatable. I normally just leave the aperture at a mid-point and forget about it. Understandably it shows its age more when wide open and in challenging conditions, but for a lot of the time it's just great.
