Apologies for a change of mind in the classified

The other day I listed an M7 for sale here. There were several interested people, but I made excuses to myself and then listed the item as SOLD. It was my intention to sell a very nice camera, but the simple truth is, I just couldn't part with this M7 yet. I got it to use it, and that hasn't happened yet. Damn this need to sell great film gear for digital gear that I don't like, but need. Maybe I'm not the first one to do this? I'm sure there are many who have had seller's remorse too. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've had seller's remorse for the last month or so, and have rebought just about everything that I sold this spring.

Fortunately, I contacted the people who bought some of the items and they were willing to send the items back, and allowed me to refund their purchase price.

On a few items, I had to rebuy them on the open market, and paid a lot more, for lesser quality.

If your gut is telling you "don't sell", then don't. Especially if it has a Leica label. Work overtime, take a second job at Walmart, buy fewer groceries, whatever, to make up the extra money.

But don't sell if it has a Leica logo on it.

I don;t see anything wrong with changing one's mind- especially if no money has exchanged hands. After the sale I've regretted a few items sold, but they always had to go for one reason or another, and I too have found "replacements" too often less nice. The only exception is my 35/1.4 pre-ASPH- the current one is a real gem nicer than the one I sold, and even if it had belonged to a friend several owners before I got it I'm happier with my current one.

Was speaking with another friend today about an MP. He'd love to have one- and I have one that I just can't part with despite my better judgement saying just take his offer. Worse than women these cameras & lenses.

I had seller's remorse in the past. Took down the ad before the sale, or sold and purchased second copy soon after. I'm now being extra extra careful and think twice especially with the lens sales. Sometimes getting another copy could be very difficult and costly.

The latest canceled sale was one of my watches, Sinn 356 Sa UTC to be exact. It was supposed to be sold to recover from another watch purchase (another Sinn) but I just couldn't part with it. I took down the ad on WUS forum a couple days after the posting. 😛

I was another interested party. If it had been a 0.58, I'd have bought it. Gee, maybe I should withdraw my 0.72 MP from the classifieds.

Foolishly sold a ZM Biogon 35/2 awhile ago, tried to entice the buyer to sell it back, but he wasn't the least willing. Picked up another, all's well, but still wish I'd kept the first and not gone thru the trouble.

Funny that I've never had remorse over selling a camera body, except that I'd like to have been able to keep a backup (or two).

I've sold a couple of M7's. They are great shooters, the antithesis of a Leica shelf queen imho. If you don't use it, then it really should be sold to someone who will.
