Hi-speed T-Max 3200, Delta 3200, or ?

I love the look I get with TMY-2 and I would like to try some of the higher speed films, but I haven't used them in ages. Last I remember, the T-Max 3200 was super grainy and the Delta 3200 was low contrast (developed in D-76.)

Just curious as to what people are using these days and what kind of results you're seeing? I'd be shooting mainly indoors / outdoors at night, wanting a 1600 - 6400 speed film. Medium contrast and grain kept to a minimum.

Try the Tmax3200 in the Tmax Developer. It's not as grainy as with other developer. Soup it at the lower temperature using a 1:4. I have few samples somewhere. Will try and locate them. I've never tried Delta3200.

I like my results with Delta 3200. I suppose you could use Rodinal to increase the contrast.

Either of them in Tmax Developer. I prefer Delta 3200 slightly, but Tmax 3200 is great too. Use Tmax Developer, for both films. They SUCK in D-76. BAD. Xtol is merely decent, but not as nice as Tmax Developer for Tmax 3200; I have not tried it for the Ilford film.

I've had very nice results with T-Max 3200 at 800 or 1600 in XTOL 1:1. It works alright at 3200 too, but you do begin to lose a noticeable amount in the shadows when exposed like that.

I've also heard good things about T-Max dev, DD-X, and Microphen with these films.

I often shoot Tri-X at 3200 and develop in microphen.. Some examples are shown in the other thread. Great contrast, minimal grain, and I rarely need to edit the scans (when I say, 'edit,' I never do more that adjust levels/constrast)

I know that the Delta has a bit higher true sensitivity. But for me somehow P3200 works better when pushed really far.. I know that there are people who swear with the Ilford though. But at EI1600, D3200 works for me too (this was also in stock Microphen):

P3200 is good but but would like to push Neopan 400 ($2 at recent deal) for economical reason.
