... at our place in alabama.
several beautiful prints, most in black and white, and most printed on epson paper. most of the subjects appear to be from a middle eastern country; two are color shots that might have been shot in india. one of the BW shots was printed on different papers. all the prints appear to be ink jet.
there was no note nor return address on the big envelope. it came from hong kong, according to the stamps.
very few people have my current mailing address here. anybody send me these as a surprise but forgot to send a note?
oh, one other thing: the photos came in a white envelope with Leica Newsletter in the upper left corner, and Schmidt Marketing, with a web address, in the bottom right corner.
i reckon i will hit the 'net ...

now that is really interesting. I am wondering how it is possible to sent a package to wrong address (that is how I understand the situation). Would the content of the photos shed any light?
Make sure to let us know once you figure it up.

Hmmm i'd start with who has it then :0
But i think you have a secret admirer...or odd luck that some unmarked package with B&W prints from hong kong happen to arrive at your door, a photographer

this was no accident. the address was handwritten in huge, blue sharpie latters ...

i have no clue. www.schmidtmarketing.com has a website with artist/artisan products, plus others. i checked a thread from a couple of weeks back about inkjet printers. no one who offered advice is from hong kong as far as i can tell ...

Have you done a classifieds transaction recently? Perhaps two addresses got mixed up.

A secret admirer? At least the parcel didn't contain a bill.

Schmidt Marketing are the distributors for Leica here in Hong Kong, maybe some promotional material and they forgot to include the covering letter?
So, the mystery hasn't been solved?

Am I the only one who wants to see the photos?
Btw, I checked out Schmidt Marketing, their site shows they have something related to leica.

i'd love to show the photos, but i do not have a scanner big enough to hand them. they are printed on nominal 16.5x11.5 inch paper.

Hi Paul,
I am glad you got the photos. Did they get mangled up in the post? Don't you remember we exchanged messages about inkjet printing? You opened a thread asking about inkjet printers and I offered to send you samples of what you can expect from an R2400 b/w print. So do you like the quality?

Ray, i am glad the mystery is solved! i had completely forgotten our interchange.
the prints are lovely. i am duly impressed with what an inkjet printer can do in capable hands.
i much, much appreciate your effort, and i look forward to my own printer in the next few months.
thanks again. i am such a dork. it was the hong kong address that threw me, i think ...
