Maybe you'd like to reconsider that... An OM-2 and a 21/f2 is pretty much a dream combination, for example. They have some nice 28s and 35s, too.

Same goes for me.....also, I'm skint and can't afford a new camera. Otherwise it would be another R-D1 too 😉

And cameras are tools. Would a craftsman in any other field swap tools on a whim? I prefer to buy a camera; learn to use it; and stick with it. Which is what Joe's doing, via a somewhat roundabout route.

Do it any other way, and there's always the risk that if you go back to something you wish you'd never sold, it won't be as good as the one you had first time (as with my two 100/2.8 Planars). Buying inside RFF makes this a lot less likely, fortunately.

running with two rd-1's versus two different bodies would work much better for me, too. smoother, more reflexive, quicker shooting (less chance for mis-handled shots).
 
I wouldn't be surprised if you keep on going past the 360 degree mark and reach the 540 degree mark, and will eventually reach 720 🙂

Joe, your last round of R-D1 shots, as others have already articulated, were really good.

Having also owned the X-100 and R-D1, I also struggled to find my synergy with the x-100. The same can not be said about me and my R-D1. The two of us are like best friends, we just get each other. The x-100 takes fantastic photos and many people in here are doing just that. But for me, the connection with the camera (and lenses for that matter), far outweighed the added ISO capabilities. I am having a hard time enjoying any camera that isnt a true RF. I'm sure this feeling will pass, but it has forced my D700 to sit on the shelf far too often.

Anyway, Kudos to the x-100 users and congrats on your 2xR-D1 setup. On one last note, joe the M8 is a stellar camera if its a good copy. I am playing with one at the moment and am very impressed. I find myself trying to reach for a shutter crank far too often though. M6 and R-D1 are the two for me.

I am considering a Retro 5 and 10, really wishing that there was a Retro 7.5. For me the 5 is too small, I like the size of the 10 but do you find it too deep for smallish cameras?
 
i also would love a retro 8...

the 10 is bigger than i would like and while it is deep it makes for much easier entry and exit of gear because it's just all open...no zippers to pull the top together.
if domke made an 5xb without that top zipper it might be perfect.

i use the retro 5 for one body plus a few lenses, the 10 for both bodies and all 4 lenses.
