Perar lenses - Batch III taking orders

Hmm. I rather use my Rollei 35 .... and spend the rest of the money on a real lens. Or a ticket to Hawaii 🙂

🙄 back at ya... what type of pocket are we talking about? Pants? no. Jacket? maybe, yes...but with that weight, it'll be swinging around and be annoying, etc.
If I can fit a Fed 2 with a collapsible Industar in the back pocket of my jeans, I don't see why an M3 with the Perar wouldn't fit. And personally, the weight isn't an issue to me in a good winter coat. But in a suit jacket... yeah, I'm totally with you on that one.

Since I know the number of persons on the waiting lens from the recent batch, I wonder how long delivery will take. This lens was an amazing success. 🙂

I've been really curious about the fast 50mm from MS Optical a few years ago, and have been wondering if they would do a new one. I'd probably order one right away, given how much I like the Perar.

Well, I'll have to eat my words in this thread... I had a change of heart and decided to try it again. Ordered the MKII one a few days ago and it should be sent soon. I'm a sucker for small lenses and this should be nice on the M9 (previously I only tried it on the M8). That said, it won't be fitting into my pockets anytime soon (especially not my ass pockets).

The size is so appealing, but I can't help to wonder at the handling. Anything good or bad to say?

I am currently testing an M-mount Contax planar 35mm f2, and I have to say it is a joy to have that lens on a Leica body. I am certainly starting to enjoy this testing lark, that is for sure.

would be nice to see full frame samples of the lens. my impression has been similar to jsrockit's (before he ate his words).

I played with one in a store in Montreal. They took it in as a used item.

Wow, what a cute lens. The images on the store M9 were fantastic.

I can't wait to get mine (I'm on the waiting list).

Well, for me, I like the tiny size... there's not exactly any unique signature to me (which I still don't see). It is capable, but not magical. Many images that are very nice from this lens have a lot of PP done to them. You have to take that into account.

Here are a couple of shots taken earlier this year in NYC, taken on the M9 with a Batch I Perar. Yes, I was walking around St Marks Place with the compact set up in my coat pocket.

Photos are full frame.
