Prontor once had long time devices of the same shape as their screw-in self timers, and other makers reportedly had them as well. Hard to find, most of them are misidentified as self timers.
I have been daydreaming of something like this for a while now.
They exist, in pure-electronics for digital cameras, it should not be hard to make one for a mechanical one. I'd be seriously surprised if nobody makes one.
I can't locate my Prontor - but found my Haka Autoknips II, which also features a 1/2-9s timed release in addition to the self-timer function. As the Haka timers were widely copied, there must be quite a few similar devices.
If you use the self-timer on a FED2, for example, on B you will get a 3 or 4 second exposure as the timer is near the end of it's ticking. The curtains are triggered separately somehow. Would that do the job?
