Pushing the Trix beyond ISO1600

I shoot Trix and usually @800 ISO, sometimes @1600 ISO. Now its getting darker and darker here in Iceland and the window of light during the day is short. I just put a Trix in my OM2 and went out shooting a school thing in my daughters school and it was very dark so I started shooting @6400 🙂
Honestly I cant wait to see the result but I´m only 14 frames into the film.

Are any of you guys and girls shooting the Trix beyond 1600? I have seen a lot of 3200 and I like it but I would like to see 6400 and even 12800 😀

It would be great to se samples, other films welcomed of course 🙂

I shoot Tri-X at 3200 often. LOVE it. hate how long it takes to develop.. (25 minutes in microphen) I would curious try it at 6400, but have no idea how long to develop for.. or for 12800!

If you wet print, 1600-3200 (incident metering, stand development) are the limit... For scanning and digital processing / printing, and / or in case of really needing more than that (I don't, as a dark church at ISO3200 gives me 1/125-1/60-1/30 at f/1.4) I'd use Delta3200.

I´m using xtol, Kodak says 15.5 min @3200 if using 20C°. So somewhere around 20 min should do it for 6400 I think.

I came across this recipe somewhere, either here or maybe photo.net a long time ago using HC-110 Replenisher:

To process Tri-X at ISO 5000, you use not HC-110 Developer, but rather,
HC-110 REPLENISHER. You can buy a 16-ounce container of the stuff at a
good camera store, although they may need to order it from Kodak, so you
may have to wait a while to get your hands on it.

To make a solution of this special developer, make a 1:15 solution of
HC-110 Replenisher. That means, one ounce of the replenisher to 15 ounces
of water. So, if you're processing 4 rolls of 35mm film, or 2 rolls of 120
film in a one-quart tank, mix 2 ounces of replenisher with 30 ounces of
water. Unlike many developers that use a 68-degree temperature, this
formula requires that you bring the working solution of HC-110 replenisher
to 75-degrees. The processing time is 5-3/4 minutes at 75-degrees, with
agitation for five seconds every thirty second.
