What a great shot with the Millennium....must be quite the lens. Since I know you can always use another M2, I'll trade you a nice one for that Millennium 50mm Nikkor.

I think both Nikkor 1.4 and Nokton 1.5 are fantastic lenses. Different enough to be worth it to have both. I have both in LTM and like thiem for different reasons. But than again, I belong to a camp called "you can never have enough 50mm lenses."

Unexpectedly, I got both! I got the Nikkor-S a few weeks ago, and just bought the Nokton in the classifieds. I knew I liked the Nikkor, so I'm excited to use the Nokton

Nokton focusing?
Nokton focusing?
The 5cm SC 1.4 combined with the 1:1 viewfinder is a fantastic camera for portraits. But, I've been thinking about getting the Nokton S 50/1.5 for more general shooting applications. Are there any focusing issues with this lens and the Nikon RF?

I just shot my first roll with the Nokton yesterday (Provia 400X), focusing is smooth. It was a pleasure using it. I'm excited to see the results!

I've used the Nokton in Leica screw mount and I was very impressed by the wide open performance. My lens (and body) was lifted out of my camera bag... while I was wearing it. Haha. I'm looking forward to hearing about your first roll with the lens.

Wow that is terrible. Where exactly were you when they nabbed it off you?

La Paz, Bolivia, while listening/photographing an event. I was very sick and out of it at the time. Had my shoulder bag and was switching between the Canon/Nokton for people pics, and an SLR with a tele for the speaker. My bag was even latched. They got it open and made off with the camera without completely unbeknownst to me. Gotta hand it to them. Lost half a roll of film too.

btw, how close does the S-Nokton focus? It is the same .9m as the L39 version?
