I wish I could make it out to meet some photographers in this area, but I am leaving town the day before. Dang it. Hopefully next time.
I do have a question for you guys in Atlanta though. I recently moved here, near Suwanee actually, and I need to find a place to buy darkroom chemicals. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Nah, nothing of interest on my side of town.
However, we can do something different. We can go with an interesting location for photography (ie-street/old buildings/trains/etc.) anywhere.
Or, we could do a theme such as seasonal photography, nighttime holiday lights, holiday event, or whatever.
Or, we could do a travelling RFF meet within 4 hours of Atlanta so others in the southeast could join us. Are ya listening paulfish, Raid, and many others? Asheville, N.C./Savannah/Pensacola/Birmingham/other suggestions?
How about some ideas from everyone as I would love to hear some creative ideas.![]()
Sounds interesting,maybe I could talk a neighbor (Raid)into it.

I supposedly get back to Knoxville the 15th. I'll have to see if I can make it. My clock might be so messed up from China that I'd show up 12 hours early or late!

Hi, StevenJohn! Got any idea where you would like to meet up? And when?![]()
What I'm really in the mood to shoot is small town streets with perhaps an old movie theater, banks, or dime stores. Do you know of anything along those lines?

dcran--welcome to the Suwanee area!
Pretty calm up here---
You can buy chemicals at Wing's on Briarcliff Rd at Clairmont Rd, and I think Showcase still sells them, too.

Steve--downtown Buford GA comes close to the old restored area--actually, most all of the small towns in this area seem to have an historic district.
Macon GA still has a beautiful downtown area, too.
How about Knoxville? Is the downtown area there pretty much intact?

Paul- I'll look into Buford. Thanks for the suggestion.
Knoxville has some interesting spots. The old city area and the Tennessee Theater on Gay St. are good spots. Knoxville is a little bigger town than what I'm trying to find. I'm thinking something more like Waynesville, NC if you've ever been there.

There are dozens of small towns around Atlanta that are charming backdrops these days and movie producers have been using them a lot lately. One of the nicest is Madison...about an hour east of Atlanta on I-20.

Okay, so we are open again for suggestions in Atlanta or elsewhere on the 17th. We still have time to change locations but Christmas dictates the 17th as the only open date for December.
If you all want to do something in January, we can do that, too, weather permitting.
So, throw out something and see if it sticks on the wall. That is the only way we can what substance it is....
