Olympus M4/3 OM soon?

If it is a simple camera like the OM-1 and about the same body size, and the viewfinder works well for manual focusing of old Zuiko lenses, I may have found my next camera.
But, I doubt it will have that simplicity or even that of the OM-2. Today, most people feel they need all the bells and whistles when most good photos only require good film/sensor, good lens and proper use of aperture, shutter speed and a good "eye."
And, what's the deal with the author describing the OM-2 in the picture as a "photocamera?" Is there any other kind? 😀

I don't think English is the author's native language. I would be interested in using old olympus lenses with it (except maybe pen half frame lenses) since the crop factor is too high, but what i find intriguing is that maybe someone will start making DSLRs that are retro in design (not that this article is saying that).
Retro in controls is more important than retro in design. A good looking retro camera can still end up being the E-P1. Not a simple beast to use.

Producation issue. Oly is tied to 4/3 and m4/3 as their sensor size. Some how all lenses they make most likely will work on the new camera. No R&D cost to produce a FF system. Interchangable components, overall lower production costs.
This is about profit, not product, for all companies.

The rumor site posted on Friday that there would be no replacement to the E-P3 soon because Oly is having part supply issues. I thought that meant this camera was on hold, but I guess this will be a new product line to run along side the Pens.

i'm very interested in this camera, but i highly doubt it will be anything like an OM beyond looks. it'll probably be what the E-P1, E-P2 & E-P3 are to the original Pen line of cameras-- vaguely similar in looks and not much else.
that said, that is perfectly fine with me as long as they build a camera that's at least on par with Fuji's new X-Pro 1. i really love my E-P2 and want to stick with Olympus, but GOD is that X-Pro 1 tempting....

Curious, but almost too little too late for Olympus (for me anyway). They should have been onto this camera first up, not after 3-4 years of half baked consumer cameras.

Unlike so many people here, I have zero problems with m4/3rd as a system.
I will always have my "real" OM cameras and film to use; but to be able to use a digital camera that was designed to be the spiritual successor of the OM legacy, I consider that a treat, just like the digital Pen cameras.

Interesting, I always miss not having bought many years ago the OM 1 ...now this could be an interesting camera not to miss...but I'm getting confused, a new Fuji, a new Olympus, the announced Leica mirrorless sytem (not sure when), the small nikon ... my budget is not unlimited and next choice must be appropriate...
