My new combination!
A superb pairing. Examples from the first roll of Tri-X. One at min focus distance and max aperture and one mid-distance.

What a great looking pair! Is this lens rf coupled?
ive been thinking about picking one up ive seen a few nice copies go for just over 100$ seems like a real bargain.
Great shots btw. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it's RF-coupled. I find this lens to be quite underrated, it's not expensive and it's excellent for portrets.
I like your IIIg too Keith!

. . . . . a beautiful looking camera and lens.
I have a copy of the lens but have not used it for awhile, need to take it out for a walk.

Thanks for the comments. Yes the Elmar is RF-coupled and the IIIg has the 90mm framelines, so an ideal pairing. I did have doubts about focussing accuracy but with the IIIg's rangefinder, the focus really jumps into view, if you know what I mean - an absolute minimum of to-ing and fro-ing needed, aided by the lens's focus mechanism long throw.
Just the other week I bought the LTM/bayonet adaptor and was able to use the lens on my M9, also with very pleasing results.
