Looking for a digital backup

My trusty Ricoh GX200 has served me well, but is getting long in the tooth. ISO sucks over 200.Thinking of getting the Fuji X10. Any thoughts. Still hanging on as a committed film guy.😎

I bought the X10 a month ago and it's certainly not pocketable as the lens protrudes. For some reason I'm not really getting along with it. Not even sure why to be honest. I'd say it's a size thing but I prefer the X100 and that's even bigger. My usual pocket cam is a GRDIII.

+ 1 for the S95. I swapped my LX-5 for it as the LX-5 was just not pocketable enough for jeans.

For a bigger sensor, I have a lot of fun with various lenses on the NEX-3. See my Flickr for examples.

I have a small Lumix LX5 that I throw in the bag for some quick grab shots. Its fast with the Leica Vario summicron 1:2.0-3.3/5.1-19.2 ASPH. Pictures show significant range in DOF. Color nice. Low light very nice. Inexpensive on Amazon.

I love the Ricoh compacts and still use my GX100. Most compacts don't come close to the Ricohs in the most important function for me, which is shutter lag. The majority of compacts have it in *****s. While the Canon S95 and the Panasonic LX5, might have better IQ, they lag behind in slow performance. I also don't find the noise at higher ISOs with the Ricoh objectionable at. I find it to be very film grain-like. I also shoot only RAW and process accordingly.

I bought the X10 and like it very much but I have to agree it's not "pocketable" - at least not my pockets! A small pouch style bag that clips to belt or shoulder strap works for me. With the lens hood removed it will just fit in the Lowepro Sliplock Pouch #20 and will fit in the #30 size with hood attached.
