For the first time, we would like to offer folks closer to the Pensacola/North Florida Panhandle/Alabama/Mississippi/Lousiana/Elsewhere to join fellow RFF members for a photo meet! If we can get a good list of attendees, location, festivities, etc. will all be worked out in the coming weeks!🙂

So, here is the sign-up list. If you would like to join us, please copy and re-post with your name added for a running list:

1. Dave Lackey

What does the group think about a walk through the Naval Aviation Museum? It's a "one of a kind" & one of the best.

1. We could start out the day with sunrise shooting at Pensacola Beach.
2. Light breakfast and coffee at Panera Bread in Cordova Mall Davis Highway to chat and agree on the next steps.
3. Fort Pickens on Pensacola Beach for some photography. Nature walk has herons there. This is the only place needing an entrance fee to the park. I have a card, so we can car pool from Pensacola Beach to the Ft Pickens Park. The fee may be $10 for 14 days per car.
4. Light lunch at Pensacola Beach.
5. My favorite location: Joe Patti's Seafod Store ( fishing boats and many pelicans)
6. The white sand beaches on Pensacola Beach, driving towards Navarre along the beach.
7. Ask Leica Tom to bring one of is models and join us from South Florida. If this is "too much",skip this part and move to another activity.
8. Sunset on Pensacola Beach, followed by a seafood dinner at one of the restaurants.
9. A walk through the historic downtown would also be nice.
10. If you fish, bring your fishing equipment with you. The fishing pier at Pensacola Beach is also good for photography.

Robin emailed me that he will attend our meting.

For a second day, I recommend visiting the Naval Air Dtation and the largest aviation museum on earth. Entrance is free.

for breakfast, i'd suggest some other places, too, for local "color": CJ's or Joe's Coffee Cup. or maybe bagelhead's which has a view of the bay with lots of elbow room.
panera has a lot more space to spread out but no large tables. at CJ's, the staff can put us on a couple of long tables close together. joe's can get really loud ...
i heartily second Raid's other suggestions!

Hi Paul,
I just threw out some suggestions. Changes are welcome.
I was thinking of the good pasteries at Panera. 🙂
Panera is away from the beaches, and that is a negative point, but a e through the old Pensacoal East Hill area with its old beautiful homes with wonder azaleas in the yards in April to reach Bayou Blvd and then Panera is a good drive.

I was more thinking of having a place for chatting.

Bagelhead's would also be a good place. I agree.

Would the week before be an alternative or must it be on this specific weekend? I want to make sure to be here to attend the meeting.

Each day offers a different possibility of photography, and it is a matter of luck what you will see in April.

It would definitely be better for me, but I go with the flow here.

correction: April 28/29

Hotels can be costly on Pensacola Beach, and there are less expensive alternatives available in Pensacola if you have a car.

March 31: Saturday and April 1 (no joke): Sunday

The weekend before May 5 would be April 28/29. Do you need to move it up a month or a week?

I like this as an itinerary! We can always tweak it as it goes along.🙂

I was way off ... no, the previous week would work for me.
April 28/29.

The final exam week at my university was shifted to the first week in May, which made me suggest to change the meeting to one week earlier.
March is also a wonderful month, Dave, so if most people prefer March, consider it too.
