He certainly photographed a lot of Americana. He donated 14,500 slides to the University of Indiana, which can be accessed here.

It says he shot them (in 1941, 42) with a Contax IIa. Mustn't it have been a Contax II? Great stuff. Thanks, Damaso!

Thank you for the link Damaso!.. Now it will take me days to go through the collection as they are quite interesting... (He shot these with a Contax II and probably with uncoated lenses and today we question whether the non-asphericals would be good enough for many of us.. 🙄 )

It really is an interesting collection. I've always said to be a good photographer you need to know what's gone before...

i started too late in photography to discover slides and in particular Kodachrome. reading through wikipedia, i just found out that it appear from iso 8 to iso 200.

it is fascinating that with slide's unforgiving latitude, Mr. Cushman got his exposure right....
