I recently required a refurbished E-P2 and I am enjoying it a lot. A few days ago I shot with a Voigtländer 25mm f:0.95 inside a shop. I had a little difficulty focusing precisely off the screen (I do have the VF-2 however).

Does anybody use this combo and can tell me if it is difficulty/easy to focus manually and other thoughts about it?

I can focus with my Contax G lenses when using the viewfinder no problem.

All input much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have the Nikon 25 mm and used it extensively with the Ep 2 . I do recommend the VF 2 as it will aid focus. I think they are a great combination, I very rarely take that lens off my EP 3.

The only time I don't the need the camera's focusing aid (with or without the VF-2) is with Oly or Pany AF lenses, all other MF lenses greatly benefit from the in-camera 7x or 10x focusing aid. The VF-2 alone on such a fast optic should work well but you can confirm your focusing skills with the focusing aid to see how well you are doing.

Thanks Awilder, Raid and Shane on your input.
Hm. It is tempting :)

PS: Very nice picture Shane

I use this combo, but I tend to use the image-magnification in the VF-2 to nail focus. As you probably appreciate, the depth of focus with the 25mm 0.95 wide open is quite narrow.

Thanks Benjamin, yeah, I looked at some of my Contax 45mm f:2.0 work. I think maybe f:1.4 is all I can handle. Well, better figuring it out now than after buying it...
