$5000 M9 on ebay right now

Buy it Now has been removed???

Once an ebayer bids, and there is no reserve, it removes teh buy it now feature. I think ebay does this to make more money...but in any case, yes the buy it now is gone. This might end up selling for more than $5000, unless all the bidders find out this seller is scammer, flake, non responsive or the shutter count is really high (or some other problem).

My advice is to still contact this seller if still interested, and find out more details. Sometimes a seller will prefer a buy it now and not wait 10 days for the auction to close, and if you find out the seller is legit, you could get a private auction. I got my nikon d700 for $1250 on ebay almost 2 years ago from a seller with not hta tmuch feedback. Buy it now was $1450, but it came with the mb-d11, ~$200 value. I called the seller and spoke with him before any money was sent, and was the best deal ive ever gotten.

I also was scammed by a seller with 900 feedback and a 100%+ history of selling, a few years ago. before paypal only covered up to $1,000, so i lost about $700.

anyway, guess this thread is moot now

It's now a $4000.00 item?

it was originally, $4000 starting bid, $5000 buy it now. Once the bid was placed, the buy it now is removed automatically by ebay. This is now an auction, with over 9 days left to bid. The price will go up of course, i think past $5000 but who knows...

For the moment. It'll likely end about $5000. Ebay is a good barometer for the top going price of things. I usually find I do about as well on the forums because all of the fees that ebay charges. I also find that the lower I start an auction at, the higher it ends. It's a little hair-raising starting something I know is worth $2000 at $1, but it's never failed to end well.

For me, this is too much money to risk on a used camera. If I was in the market for an M9, I'd have to go new, get the warranty, the reassurance etc.
