Anyone Ever Use a Half Yellow (K2) Filter?

I saw these half yellow, half clear filters on eBay, and it looks promising. I could use the yellow part on top to darken my sky a little and not affect the rest of the exposure (although how I would meter isn't very clear to me). The second link shows a half yellow and half purple filter. Still trying to figure out what I would do w/ that. Has anyone used these?

You'd be better off with a square filter and holder. Round filters dont let you compose the scene properly

Sounds good, except they imply certain composition, 50:50 which normally isn't too desirable.

+1. Something like a square Cokin filter would be better. You can slide the filter up and down enough to place the Yellow/clear division where it needs to go. Also, the square ones usually have a soft transition that makes it more subtle, in the picture, as to where the filtering effect leaves off.

Sounds like a Cokin filter would be a better idea. If you can adjust the filter for the part of the image that you want a little more contrast in, that sounds better than being stuck w/ a split right down the middle, that may not let you compose the way that you need. Thanks!
