It's an underrated classic. Are those fullframe images?

I think you will be pleased with it.. For more than 20 years this lens was attached to my Nikon F body through all my motorcycle tours. Especially on your crop body it will shine, no edge softness. Use a 35mm hood on it.. 😉

my 28 came with a older metal hood and i put that on the 24...works ok so far...

Nice, looks like you're having fun with that lens. The 24mm F2.8 is my favorite Nikkor of all time, first an AI'd first edition with the metal focusing ring that I used with film cameras, and now an AIS on a cropped-frame digital. Although, if you're using on a D90, perhaps yours is an AF version?

I like how the AF-Ds work on all the era of nikons: FE, N80, D90... 24mm is great focal length (working distance) for both full and cropper.

I had the 24mm f2.8 in AIS but sold it when I was craving a Leica M8. I regretted selling it ever since (also the AIS 50mm f1.4). I hav esince bought both in AF versions and find them to be optically fine but somehow they are not quite the same - that AIS series was the epitome of classic lens build.

Peter, they claim the AF-D has the same optics as the AIS. Certainly, the construction is not as nice.
