Cameraleather: black beauty vs restoration black

I am going to replace the Griptac on my 2 black MP's with leather from Morgan Sparks.

I'm going back and forth between Black Beauty and Restoration Black. On the website pictures, the BB looks to have a deeper black but I'm not sure if this is just the lighting. Does anyone know?

Though it is a purely personal preference, which would you pick?

I used Black Beauty for a Mamiya and it was nice and black, also fairly giving. For my MP, though, I used Aki Asahi which I'm really pleased with; it feels great.

I'm also just looked at the coverings from Aki Asahi. Though not leather, the 4008 and 4034 patterns look fine as well. What are the differences as he doesn't explain descriptively how different they are.

I think for now I want some thing with alot of texture for grip and darker and more shiny.

4008 is a little lighter and has more of a matte finish. It is very close in appearance to the original vulcanite on an M3. 4034 is darker and shinier, and is a dead ringer for the modern vulcanite that comes on an MP.

Shipping from aki-asahi is very fast, and he is extremely responsive. You will not be disappointed!

I just ordered 2 sets of 4034 which if darker and shinier is what I wanted. Called Leica NJ and asked what the cost of their vulcanite was and it was about 9X the cost of Aki Asahi's.

I have ordered Griptac from Morgan for the Evil slr
If Aki Asahi had made one for my camera I would have gone to him first but alas he doesn't ... of course I could have just purchased a camera he does make a covering for 🙂

Seal Grain Blue (ME Super, MG)

Never had a problem with any of these orders from cameraleather.com.
