in free trial mode. i'm using trial lightroom to edit in SEP. i think i like it a bunch. it is so much more straightforward than lightroom itself. the curves thingy sure is sensitive. i reckon i will have to be caffeine free to use that with any grace. i like the film effects, grain slider and all of those other sliders. i reckon SEP is what i'll request for my birthday, unless you guys know of something else i should try ... 🙂

No, you don't need much else. Lightroom plus Silver Efex Pro is a really strong combo.

I've tried lots of similiar stuff and plugins. SEP2 is the best of the bunch and also the most intuitive in my opinion.

Its a nice piece of software, and just doing pretty much the same myself, playing around with the software.

I like it a lot, although would prefer a batch option that was quick and easy from lightroom though.

I particularly the borders options too. Now if only Adobe could license Nik so as to integrate Silver Efex within Lightroom, I would be a very happy man.. 🙂

I'm not parting with b/w film soon, but when I do deviate from it for just a moment, Silver Efex Pro will be part of the workflow for sure.
