Recently, I've noticed that the rear LCD of my NEX-3 doesn't stay in its up position anymore, and slowly sinks down.. Truth be told, I do have a screen protector (original Sony) clipped onto the LCD, so maybe the increased weight accounts for the sag. I already checked that the protector itself stays clear of the camera body.

Anyone else run into this? Is there a screw that can be tightened to keep the screen flipped up?

No, did not have your problem, but I had another problem with the screen: When flipping it up (to do low angle shots and such) the screen went wonky, smudged colors etc. When flipping it back it was ok again. I send it in for repair (warranty). Did you see that problem?

No, didn't run into that, the screen keeps working OK despite the sag..

It's that ribbon cable behind the screen that causes this. This happens on my NEX_5, but it goes away if I fiddle with the cable. In the past, I unscrewed the two screws that lock the ribbon cable down, pulled the cable tight, and then retightened the screws, and that fixed if for a while. I haven't had a chance to do it again.

Isnt the Nex 3 disposable anyway? If it stops working buy another one for 100$ used.

Hi
You can dispose of faulty Nex cameras my way if you like. I have sucessfully changed a Sony Nex 5 screen which was quite an easy 30min job (with care). New screen costing about £20 which is cheaper than buying another camera.
