Randy Olsen and Melissa Farlow are friends of mine. I actually taught Melissa to develope b&w film back in college. We were on the staff of the IU yearbook in 1973. This story on Easter Island is the lead story this month in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.

As much as I enjoy film, I am not sure any Leica including the M9 would work on the end of a kite. By the way, Randy's favorite film camera is an M2. Melissa shot the video.

Enjoy!

Einstein's dictum comes to mind. Genius is 99% perspiration. That final shot in the video is beautiful. Interesting to see the iPad as the triggering and transmission device. It's a very versatile machine for custom projects. He's earnt his stripes for NG that's for sure.

Kevatkin, thanks for the link. I don't think there are many people who know the name of IU's yearbook.

I started doing photography in 1966 in high school. I photographed for the ARBUTUS from 1971 to 1973 as well as the DAILY STUDENT. It paid for a large part of my college expenses.

Melissa Farlow was the editor for a couple years. She is from Paoli, In., and I am from the next county west. I remember working with her on her first photo story due on the same weekend as the Little 500. It was a busy weekend for me. We have remained friends since college and I occasionally help her with a photo assignment.

I would have loved to travel with them to Easter Island. I could have flown either the airplane or helicopter.
