film photography in indonesia?

Where in Indonesia?

Getting a lab to develop colour negatives is still reasonably easy (both 120 and 35mm). At least in Bali, I don't know of any labs still taking b&w development.

As far as buying films unfortunately I have no idea, let me try and ask some friends, see if anyone knows.

that would be sweet, thanks!
in/around jakarta would be most interesting.

As a tank and measure are easy to pack, could Macodirect (or equivalent) send film and dry b+w chemicals to an address over there, so the necessary consumables would be waiting for you?

Good luck with the plans.

(Edit: Stating the obvious, sorry! 😉)

C41 processing should be "everywhere" as long as you found "fuji film" label in front of any camera store, BW is a little bit rare but i believe some big camera/film store still doing it. try to make a walk to Pasar Baru near to Monas, they are big used camera market, maybe you can find nice stuff down there, or at least have your film developed.

Use diafine. It's a powder and is not sensitive to tempreture (within limits). Buy some fixer in powder form your all set. A tank and a timer is all you need extra to pack.

Yes.. I mix my developer from raw chemical..
I use pyrocat mc and parodinal...
Just contact me if you come to indonesia...

Hi Simon, film photography/ photographers are still alive and kicking in major cities in Indonesia (Jakarta and its greater sorounding, Bandung, Jogya etc.) Finding 135mm or 120mm films will NOT be an issue__ local labs are also not too hard too find.. email me if you need further info. cheers

Central Java photo supplies

Hi all,
Any chance anyone knows a place to get color film (c-41) in Central Java? I'm based in Salatiga but Solo/Semarang/Yogy would work. Any suggestions on black and white chemistry too...

thanks so much!

I dont know the exact place in the cities you mentioned, but there's a facebook group intended for the indonesian analog camera user to buy/sell and usually the color film and black and white chemistry pop out too. Shipping cost in Indonesia is not expensive so dont worry too much about it.

Note that C41 in Indonesia are limited to superia 200 and kodak colorplus 200. So finding a portra is rare and not to mention expensive.
