Though I don't own any of Franiec's grips, I always imagined one for Leica Ms. A nice compact grip that attaches directly to the body. I am not a fan of the Thumbs Up due to its taking up valuable shoe real-estate. I like my external finders as close to the lens as possible.

I have contacted him about this, and he has no intention due to cost, tooling, and not sure if there is enough of a market.

Would there be any interest here in petitioning Richard to make a grip for Leica Ms? Especially M8s and 9s.

Thanks.

No interest here? Really? Respectfully, I feel this would be more important than if one covers their "red dot" or not. Richard makes fine accessories. It would be great if he made a grip for Leica Ms. Certainly would be less expensive then a Thumbs Up or the Leica grip.

While I like his grip on a small digicam (in my case, an Olympus E-PM1) I suspect it would be too small and low-profile to work on an M body. The M handgrip feels about right, and it's not that expensive.

Add to that the cost of designing and making a screw-attached grip (would you want a grip superglued to your M's covering, or indeed trust it not to break off?) and I can see his point.

Well, he would be designing and sizing a grip specifically for Leica Ms. I wouldn't suggest putting a small grip on the Leica like a Ricoh.

It's good to have more options. But it's difficult to be interested in yet another grip without any real details about the product. The existing Leica grip works fine.
