16MP, Q button, some minor tweaks, (claim to be) improved AF
I'd rather to have a snap mode, or at least let the MF mode remember its distance set last time.

Just need a 40 1.7 and good to go. That way the 35 lovers can still get the X100.

I would still prefer the 35. If you want a 40 just crop like 10%. Can't do the reverse.

Well, they won't change the focal length if they have discontinued the present model, so upgrades are pretty obvious. I would think that they will keep the same sensor technology and user interface across their high end models. That should pretty much dictate the next update. Mine still works great and should work just fine after the new model arrives.

It's no surprise that it's discontinued. The first clue was when Precision Camera blew them out for $1000 or so to RFF members.

I'd love to see it with the buttons of the x-pro1, Q button etc, losing the bad set-up it has just now, the same sensor and no anti-alias filter as in the x-pro1 too! Oh, and make it in black as a standard choice rather than the current limited edition then I might trade in my M9 and 35mm Leica lens.

do people in the comments really expect fuji to release something with a full frame sensor for anywhere near the price that the x100 retailed at? my x100 had EXCELLENT iso performance up at 6400 and performed way past my expectations.
anyways i would love to see faster AF, better battery life, and shorter shutter lag if at all possible. otherwise i loved my x100 the way it was.

Here's my guesses.
* 23mm (35mm EQ) FL, maybe f/1.8. (needs to be compatible with the just released wide angle adapter)
* X-Trans sensor.
* X-Pro 1 form factor. (locking speed dial, Q-button, directional keys instead of a wheel, maybe black/silver options)
* X-Pro 1 menus.
* Faster autofocus.
What I'd like to see that I think is realistic
* Manual focus ring that doesn't spin forever and has a focus scale (photos of the upcoming 14mm 2.8 have been shown to have a focus scale)
* 50mm EQ FL normal lens adapter
* In camera stabilization. (although I felt I never needed it on the X100)
* Better solution for a lens hood or add on filters.

yes, outside of improvement in DOF, i'm not sure what advantage one gains from making a fixed lens camera FF vs apsc. and i wonder if even that advantage can be approximated by opening up the apsc lens aperture to lets say 1.4...
if they opened up the aperture another stop and eliminated shutter lag, thatd be enough improvement for me.

The onboard flash is very, very good, so why is that one reason for not buying one?I'll take your word for it. But that built in flash is one of a number of factors that prevented me from buying the camera.

Just give me a place on the camera back where I can put my thumb without pushing some damn button or moving some dial.

You can lock the command wheel functions by pushing on "OK" for a few seconds.

Right-click on the command wheel for "Force Flash" and it will take care of itself.
On-board flash in very bright conditions.

I probably won't upgrade unless they figure out how to put a fist class AF system in these cameras.

And I hear Olympus are planning a new OM micro four thirds that will be called the OM-Double D (OM-DD) with slightly larger dimensions.
They felt the need to keep abreast with the competition.
Latest rumor is that it's going to be a digital TLR with fixed 500mm/1.4 lenses.

I'll take your word for it. But that built in flash is one of a number of factors that prevented me from buying the camera. I went with NEX. An X200 would be of interest so long as they keep the 35mm focal length, and the EVF was as good or better than the NEX....
No need to take anyone's word for it- the thing even works on mirror self-portraits:

And there's a perfectly good hot shoe on it, too.

And the cheap EF-20 flash is a very good buy, to save on camera batteries and kick up the output.And there's a perfectly good hot shoe on it, too.

Look, you don't have to use it but the X-100 flash is FANTASTIC for daylight fill because the X100 has such a high sync speed. Fuji would be total fools to ditch that KILLER FEATURE not found in any other camera with a similar form factor.

I am quite content with my X100. There would have to be a major change befor I would even think about upgrading.
