California (Bay Area, Northern) Pier 24 August 30th

ok cool, I just booked for Thursday, August 30th 3:15pm-5:15pm and I got an email reply from them confirming that I am booked....

hope to see as many as you guys and gals as possible there.....

BTW, I had a long talk with Sherry K. today, she just repaired one of my lenses, she told me an interesting story about Leica that I would like to share with you guys when we all meet up.....

cheers, michael

Sherry has the stories! One night I called her on my CL repair she did for me and we spoke for like 45 minutes! She told me all about her past! It was interesting....gotta love Sherry.

@Kent -- Hah! You might enjoy travelling with my girlfriend, she's really nice and she's a FANTASTIC cook! Still waiting to get the darned G21 converted over. I was hoping to bring it with me.

Jamie, I got a bikini wax last week, so the Speedo should lay more flat this time.

Your back. Did you get your back shaved this time? Just pay the premium all the beauticians request and get it done. I did.

Hey guys, I'm in Key West now and I just realized the top plate of my m6ttl is loose. After talking to Sherry K. yesterday and listening to her lecture me on using foam to absorb the vibrations from all the planes, buses, trains etc, that I go on....well, my question is, does anybody know a place in S.F. that can fix it.....or do any of you guys have the proper tools (spanner wrench) that I could use.....it's a quick fix in Bangkok, but it be nice to be able to get it tightened up in S.F. If I could....

Cheers, michael

Michael,

Hopefully she told you to never leave a camera on the floor of a plane. Outrageous micro-vibrations can cause screws to back out and worse.

As for repair I know of a place about 25 miles South of SF that might be able to help. Most likely one of our fine local friends has a spanner wrench though.

Call Yakov (Advance Camera), 415-242-4455. He used to have a shop but now repairs out of his home in the Sunset district over on 15th Avenue. Not always easy to get a hold of and does not always return calls. He's an older Russian guy with a stutter but really nice and very knowledgeable. There's someone with an illness in his family which has him with some outside commitments lately so he's not always home these days but keep trying. If your timing is right he'd likely be able to help you fix it in a jiffy.

Hi Michael,

looks now like I'm heading out Sat the 1st. If you want to meet me Wed or Thu evening for a beer, I can fix your M6 (before the beer :) ).

Roland.

Awesome, I'll take you up on that offer......I'll send you a PM later and we can work out the details.....

BTW, I know not to leave my camera on the floor of planes, buses, etc....my domke is always on my lap when I'm traveling, but Sherry told me that's not good enough and I need to wrap the camera in foam....I think this is like the 3rd or 4th time that this has happened to me....

Cheers, Michael
