I was able to play around with the Leica M-Monochrom today at a seminar at B&H. (Thanks Jim Wagner).. WOW.. Loved it.. The improved (advanced) Dynamic Range, clean (higher) ISO, and general feel were very impressive.
I do see a market for it.

sparrow, the first pre-orders in the US are arriving now.
It's ONLY $7,950.00 USD so you would have some change left from your 10K to partY.
Of course i'm only kidding, but my first reaction is this camera is (The Bomb) in the right hands.

So, will you be trading in some cameras from your museum for this?

Or you can save over $800 by ordering from Europe.

I don't think so.... But, it was comforting to see the better ISO performance. A good sign for the next M perhaps?

It only improves because the Bayer filter has been removed; nothing to do with any real improvements in ISO performance.

. . . . . would love to have one!
Perhaps let go of the M9 and a lens or two to pay for one . . . . .
Look forward to seeing future postings from the folks who start receiving their M9M's.
